This page covers INSERT GLITCH everywhere it runs: the website and the web arcade at insertglitch.com, the Steam app, and the iOS and Android apps.
The short version
INSERT GLITCH collects nothing about you, on any of them. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no cookies, no app carries a third-party SDK or analytics, and nothing you do in a game is sent to us. The only records anyone keeps are the stores' own: Steam's copy of your save if you use Steam Cloud, and the App Store's or Google Play's record of a purchase.
The website and the web arcade
- Collected: nothing.
- Your save: your tickets, prizes, high scores, settings and each game's own progress are kept in your browser's storage on your device. They never leave it unless you copy your save code yourself.
- The arcade's files: the arcade keeps its own files in your browser (a service worker's cache) so it starts fast and plays offline, and your browser keeps the games you've played the same way.
- You can delete all of it by clearing this site's data in your browser's settings. Copy your save code from the arcade's menu first if you want to keep your progress.
The Steam app
- Collected by us: nothing. Your save is kept on your computer.
- Steam Cloud: if you have Steam Cloud on, Steam keeps a copy of your save so it follows you between computers. That copy is Valve's service, under Steam's own privacy policy.
- Your Steam account, purchase and achievements are Steam's, under the same policy.
- The app has no third-party SDKs and no analytics.
The iOS and Android apps
- Collected by us: nothing. Your save is kept on your phone or tablet.
- Your age band: at first launch the app asks for an age band (on iOS 26, Apple's Declared Age Range; otherwise a band you choose). The band stays on your phone; nothing is sent.
- Purchases: a purchase in the app is made through the App Store or Google Play and checked on your device only: no receipt is sent to us. The store keeps its own record of it, under its own privacy policy.
- The apps have no third-party SDKs and no analytics.
Our hosts
The site, the arcade and the games are served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the technical details every request carries, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. We don't use those details to identify you or to track you, and we don't receive analytics about you.
Each game in the web arcade runs from its own address, on a separate domain of ours, in a sandbox: it can't read your other saves, can't contact anything but its own files, and can't show ads or open pages.
Links out
Links to Steam, the App Store and Google Play take you to those stores, each with its own privacy policy.
Links to Steam, the App Store and Google Play can carry a tag naming where you came from, such as 'tiktok', so those stores can count visits from each of our channels. It identifies no one, and we keep nothing.
Reporting a problem
REPORT A PROBLEM, in the arcade's menu on the web and in the apps, opens an email that you write and send yourself. It fills in what helps us find the problem: the arcade's build, the game you were playing and your last three plays, your device's kind and screen size, your browser or app, and the last errors the arcade saw. They go along only if you send the email, and you can delete any of them first.
If you email us, at [email protected] or [email protected], we use your message and address only to reply.
Children
We collect no personal information from anyone, including children.
